The word was 

VIEW.

This is the view that we received after climbing all around the Grampians.

FnwF------Word Photo Challenge

My Friday night started off a little behind, which involved me waiting for the free range girls to pop them selves into bed, so that I could pop myself down to Sues place for our FnwF get together.

I finally arrived to find Sue, Tania & Marg working very busily on the Underground Railroad block.

The block this month was the Wagon Wheel Block.

Skill Level Easy.

Margs Block....Marg hand stitched her block down.

Sues Block...Sue decided to machine stitch her wheel down.

Tanias Block...Tania decided to machine stitch her wheel down.

All of our blocks together.

This is my block....yes I know skill level easy, but boy did I have some issues..

The pattern called to back the wheel with interfacing which was fine until I ironed the front of my block....you see all of the interfacing at the back of the block melted and shrivelled under my wheel.

So I spent much time picking it all off my fabric and redoing the block.

I'm in the middle of hand stitching my wheel down.

 Some nights I just shouldn't leave the house.

Elfin Good Time

I've been steadily working on my UFO's..this one I'm hoping to have finished today.

This will end up being an Elf...Mickie Elf to be more suffice.

He was designed by Irene Harris you'll find her over at Renee's Cottage Crafts

They have lots of lovely patterns to peruse.

"STAR"

This is my photo for the word / photo challenge over at Alshas space

The word for this one was STAR.

I chose this, because I just love the fabric it reminds me of the night sky with all it's twinkling stars.

The name of the fabric is "Tis the season" by Fabri quilt..I purchased a whole heap of this from spotlight when they were getting rid of all there Xmas fabrics one January .....many many moons ago.

Week 9 Word / Photo Challenge

Hello everyone I hope that you have all had an excellent week.

Mine has been quite hectic in a good way....so no complaints here.

I even managed to get in a 9k walk this morning, so I'm feeling good.

Week 9 of the photo / word challenge.

The word for this week was

"SIZE"

Now that is getting tricky...the whole thought of size doesn't matter and mines bigger than yours all came to mind, or quality versus quantity etc...

But, I decided to go with a little fun fact...

well the fact works in my house hold anyway...so I'm not sure if this is actually proven scientifically.

Did you know that if you measured the inside of your forearm....

It would also be the same measurement as your foot.

This is Darcee's forearm and foot, so kind of him to model for me.

His arm measures 25cm and yes his foot came in at the same size.

For a 15 year old he certainly has a big hoof. (12 1/2 mens shoe)

As for the sewing...well I have been doing some secret sewing

and I managed to get all of my North Pole blocks joined together.

Now what can I make from this.....my lovely friend Sue brought me this beautiful piece of fabric back from Samoa...It is very soft to touch...I'll have to get my thinking cap on.

Week 8 Word Photo Challenge

As I sit here with the magpies singing and the Kookaburras laughing in the back ground, whilst I'm busily updating my blog and checking out all of my friends on their blogs it's great to see how HAPPY they all are. A lot of my blogging friends met up at the Lets get Stitched retreat in Melbourne and there are a lot of photos on the net of everyone looking extremely HAPPY.

This weeks photo challenge is for the word

"HAPPY"

I did have a hard time choosing between two photos of my boys. So I decided, what the heck, I would just show both.

This is my youngest Darcee he is 15 and he just saved up and bought himself his first Racing Bike.

As you can see he is quite proud of himself and very happy with his purchase.

This is my oldest son Josh, he is on the right...He is very HAPPY to have met Aaron Curtis who is a natural body builder.

So reading that my friends are happy and seeing my sons happy. 

Just makes me happy.

Today I also pulled out some scraps, now I just have to think of something to create.

Oh......I also thought that this might put a smile on your faces.....

No laughing out loud....

Week 7 Word/Photo Challenge

"FAST"

The word this week was fast....I must admit I had to get my thinking cap on for this one.

Luckily though, I finally came up with an idea.

I got out some seeded homespun, then my inks and paints and started to splat them on the fabric.

I then hung it on the line to dry. Now being a lovely sunny day with a lovely breeze, my fabric dried in aprox 10 minutes.

So within lets say 30 minutes I had created my own creative piece of fabric which is currently being used in a secret project.

Now that's "FAST"

The FLOW of traffic as it moves through Bacchus Marsh on a Sunday morning.

It was that time of year again when a bunch of us bloggers meet up down at the lovely Mill Rose Quilt Store in Ballan.

We always have a fantastic time, stitching, laughing, shopping, sharing and of course eating a lovely lunch at the Mill Cottage.

Week Word Photo Challenge

Week 5 of the Photo word challenge.

Open- When a bud OPENS to full bloom.

On the table today, I will be tying up some loose ends on my North Pole project.

Look what we had in our back yard....to young Eagles.

They were out flying around with mum watching from the not too far distance.

Aren't they amazing.

On Saturday I spent the most delightful day with a fabulous group of ladies.

We had organised for Elyte, Anne, Robyn and Marina (Annie was in our thoughts, unfortunately she had to work) We had met these lovely ladies through the blogging sphere and the Millrose friends group.

Sue met them down at our local patchwork shop

Then it was on to my place in Bullengarook..

The table was set, the food was prepared.......

then the laughter and antics began....

Week 2 - INSPIRE

"INSPIRE"

For me this was an easy peasy word.....

This is a pic of the ladies from my sewing group, they are all in their own way uniquely inspiring to me.

But, it is just not just them, it is people in general, from the youngest of being in the womb to the elderly that live past 100.

I admire and I'm inspired as to how humans can overcome tragedy, loss, violence, terrorism, heartbreak and many more obstacles that get in there way.

Also the way people with and with out disabilities can create the most amazing pieces of ART in all forms of medium.

 It's as if there is no end to their resilience, their imagination and the creativeness of people.

To all of you out there...

I applaud you......for you are all truly

Word photo challenge

I happened to be talking to my kids individually over the week and I was telling them that I was hooking up with Shaz over at Alsha's Space to do the 52 week word photo challenge.

I told them that the word was BEAUTIFUL....and a funny thing happened they had all given me the same reply...(which was)...so I guess you'll take a photo of me then hey mum.

So here they are...this is a very rushed photo for Josh had to go to work (Middle),

Darcee just wasn't being a bit serious(left) and Chloe said really...right now mum I just woke up.

But this is why I love them, because they let me snap a quick pic anyway.

This photo here though is the one I chose to represent the word Beautiful.

To me you just can't beat a beautiful sunrise and this one was especially beautiful by having the trees silhouetted in front of it.
