Our very last FnwF for the year, how quickly the time flies.

Last night I joined up with a couple of my sewing buddies, Marg & Sue. Normally Tania would be there too, but she was having a little holiday with her family.

We met at Margs house and kicked off the night with yummy fish & chips and salad.

Margs tree was up and decorated just beautifully.

 Then it was down to some show 'n' tell

This is Sues quilt she is hiding behind it...

My camera hasn't done the colours in this quilt justice for it is absolutely stunning.

Both Sue and Marg had just picked up their quilts from the quilters

They both went to Kerrie Thomas @ Blackforest Qulting in Macedon

Margs quilt is so not her normal colour choice but this is a gift for someone else.

Yes, she has used Kaffe Fassett fabrics and I feel that it has come together just beautifully.

Judging by the look on Margs face she is extremely happy with it too.

This is what Marg was stitching the very last block to the underground rail road quilt

I think Sue may be contemplating whether she has done enough binding work or not.

I worked on a stitchery that came with the CGT Club...

Nearly done...once again the colours don't look as vibrant as they actually are.

I must of had a lighting issue last night.

Sunday in Echuca

We obviously have a great time away together.

You certainly can't beat great laughs, friendship, wonderful food...with a little bit of wine and

plenty of creative sewing to make a fantastic weekend.

 Sues and Tanias completed Sailboats

 Along with Margs...these will look great on the High Seas

 I got my North Star finished

 as did Sue

 All of Sues completed blocks....how great do they look.

We just need to make up a corner block we have decided to do some form of friendship block

since we all did this together. Then to add borders, backing and binding.

 Sue also finished another Aussie Hero quilt top.

What a gal....so very generous.

 These are all of my completed blocks...it is such a great feeling getting all of these completed.

Echuca let the fun begin.

 Saturday morning we decided to go and have a little wander around the shores of the Murray River.

 The things you find.......Yes this is the very rare thong tree.
As far as I know it only grows along the banks of the Murray and doesn't need much water.
You may need to fertilise with rubber regularly .

You really need to get organised girls.....maybe try to push in the same direction next time...

Some mothers do have them....

Another rare species, but I do believe that they are slowly becoming more popular.

Just a sprinkling of yarn and you should have a happy healthy tree for a long time.

Catch up time.......

What a fantastic time was had this weekend!

Sue, Marg, Tania and myself decided to do our FNWF at Margs Holiday house down at Echuca.

That's right Echuca.......

Yes it was 4 degrees warmer than Gisborne.

It was nearly like a Summer holiday.

 Yes we did make a stop at a Patchwork shop that was on the way.

This store was in Rochester and yes that is a Tim Holtz bolt on the table

that I may or may not have purchased.

 Such a gorgeous group of ladies

Once we got to Echuca and did a bit of grocery shopping and had a bite to eat it was then

onto the serious stuff.

The paparazzi in always in full swing on these trips.
